OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. — The junior class has taken first place in the annual Battle of the Bears.

After fiercely contested dodgeball, kickball, hula hoop, egg toss and tug-of-war events on Thursday, the juniors amassed 19 points to win the competition.

The freshmen finished second with 14 points, followed by the sophomores with nine points and the soon-to-be-graduating seniors with six points.

The juniors, which included Simon-Peter Omooba, Nic Lombardi, Jeffrey Hayden and Madison Strippoli, won the tug-of-war event. That class also won in kickball and finished second in the other three competitions.

Women's lacrosse coach and SAAC advisor Kerri Handras coordinated the annual class competition that caps the academic year.
