Kieran Dowd, Andrew Florides, Zach Kleinwaks named to LICBL All-Star Game

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. — A trio of NYIT student-athletes will represent the baseball program in the Long Island Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game.

Third baseman Kieran Dowd, shortstop Andrew Florides and first baseman Zach Kleinwaks will participate in the event on Monday at 7 p.m. at Mitchel Athletic Complex.

Dowd, who arrives on campus as a freshman this fall, is hitting .370 with one homer and nine RBIs through 46 at-bats in the LICBL this summer.

Kleinwaks, Dowd's teammate with the Long Island Sound, is hitting an eye-popping .455 (15-for-33) with two homers and 17 RBIs.

Florides, a former 27th-round draft pick of the Toronto Blue Jays, is hitting .368 with one homer and an LICBL-leading 21 RBIs through 76 at-bats with the Long Island Lightning.
