Softball's Laura McLaughlin named first team All-ECAC

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.  Laura McLaughlin has been named first-team All-Eastern College Athletic Conference, adding to her multitude of postseason honors.

McLaughlin finished her NYIT tenure Friday with a program-record 1.66 career ERA.

A first-team All-East Coast Conference selection in 2017, she produced a 42 2/3-inning streak without allowing an earned run during the regular season. She led the ECC with a 1.48 ERA and finished second in strikeouts (133).

Overall, McLaughlin had an 18-9 record with two saves, seven shutouts and 22 complete games in 174 2/3 innings this past season.
