Softball swept at Molloy

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. — The NYIT softball team was swept in a doubleheader by Molloy on Sunday.

Sofia Evangelista surrendered a three-run homer for the lone damage as NYIT lost the opener, 3-0.

The Bears then jumped out to a lead in Game 2 on Jessica Daniel's second-inning RBI groundout. But Molloy posted fours in the third against Ashley Russo en route to a 4-2 victory.

The Lions swept the four-game season series.

NYIT dropped to 6-18 overall and 4-8 in the East Coast Conference.
