OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. — NYIT women's lacrosse coach Kerri Handras has added four high school seniors during the spring signing period.

Grace Guglielmo, Alexis Ramdeen, Jasolynn Rivera and Elizabeth Silverman will enroll this fall and participate with the Bears as freshmen during the 2019 season.

Guglielmo, a 5-foot-7 defender from West Babylon Senior High School, also will play midfield for the NYIT soccer team. Her sister Melissa similarly played both sports for Handras at Dowling College.

"She's a tall, athletic competitor," Handras said. "She'll be a good defender for us."

Ramdeen, a 5-0 attacker from William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, is a "small, quick lefty attacker," according to Handras.

Rivera is a 5-1 defender from Division High School in Levittown.

"She's a tough kid — quick and athletic," Handras said.

Silverman is a 5-7 midfielder from Clarke High School and hails from Westbury.

"She's smart and knows the game," Handras said.

The quartet joins four other prep seniors who signed back in the fall: attackers Jaclyn Grzelaczyk (Seaford High School) and Casey Myers (Bellport High School), defender Sara Giammarella (Rocky Point High School) and goalie Ashley Perrini (Sachem North High School).

NYIT went 14-5 this past season and earned its second straight trip to the East Coast Conference playoffs.
